Resilient Communities Canada is made up of a non-profit society plus a registered charity. Both are governed by diverse volunteer Boards of Directors.
Our purposes are:
- To foster knowledge of and appreciation for sustainable community development via public events, research, and direct action.
- To carry out activities and programs which encourage and enhance local economies and food security, civic inclusion, and the ecologically sensible consumption of resources.
- To educate the public about climate change and energy issues, and to encourage community participation in engaging with these issues constructively.
- To support and build the capacity of other community-based groups in the above areas, via knowledge sharing, the coordination of learning events, and social enterprise supports such as workshops, feasibility studies, and business plans.
The BC Centre for Social Enterprise is also stewarded by Resilient Communities Canada.
